The purpose of this wash is to remove mud, salt or sand that can get into hard-to-reach places in your vehicle. Trapped moisture and corrosive materials such as road salt can cause your car to rust, so it’s a good idea to opt for chassis washing – especially if you’re driving in the snow in winter. It is not necessary to choose this option every time, but experts at Consumer Reports recommend washing the chassis at least once a season.

Myth or fact? Dish soap is safe to use for your car.
Myth. A common myth about car washes is that the use of dishwashing detergent works as well as special auto chemistry. However, experts agree that dish soap is best left in the kitchen. This is because the harsh chemicals in dishwashes will not only remove dirt – they will also remove your car’s paint from the protective wax coating.
